Welcome to Chicago’s Windy City Black Pride
The official website for Chicago’s Windy City Black Pride organization created by and for Same-Gender-Loving, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people of African descent in the Chicago, Illinois community and throughout the Midwest. This site is to inform others that we, Same-Gender-Loving, LGBT people of African descent in the Chicago community, are here to take pride in our community's contributions, to celebrate our diversity and rich culture and to uplift one another in positive way and spiritual way.
It should also be known that our website will be update continuously to provide our community with a resource, not just for Pride weekend, but year round. We will provide information on education and employment opportunities, events around town and out of town, health and fitness, financial and legal information, give you the latest information on technology, give you music updates, showcase artists, highlight gay-owned and gay-friendly businesses and much more. We are looking for writers. If you have an idea, drop us a line. Once again, we will be here all year long. Stay tune as we get up to speed.
UNITED IN PRIDE

Chicago Windy City Black Pride (CWCBP) develop, implement and sponsor programs, activities, and special events to promote unity, cultivate pride and help improve the quality of life of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender persons and Same Gender loving Men and Women of African descent. (CWCBP) is committed to building awareness and pride in the diversity of the LGBT-SGL community.
Chicago Windy City Pride organization is a central resource to bring together the LGBT-SGL people of African descent in the city of Chicago and throughout the Midwest. This will be accomplished through CWCBP promotional efforts, support, education, and by celebrating pride in the Black LGBT-SGL community’s rich culture, diversity, contributions and achievements. CWCBP will accomplish this not only during the Pride weekend but throughout the year.
CWCBP work’s to build a strong community through communication, positive visibility, and educational opportunities while facilitating and fostering relationships within the Same-Gender-Loving, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender community of African descent and as well as the African-American community in whole. To serve as a conduit of resources that fosters a unified community.
Chicago Windy City BLACK Pride – need’s you to bring your gifts and talents to the table and be included in the detailed planning for an exceptionally successful event. CWCBP needs you … your participation, your input, and your commitment. CWCBP need committee/event chairpersons/members, sponsors, graphic artists, fine artists, entertainers, development reps/fundraisers, and volunteers of all kinds. We want everyone at the table, gay/same gender loving men and women, lesbian, Gay men, youth, bisexual’s, transgender, questioning, straight supporters, etc., so that all of our brothers and sisters are well-represented. Sisters and Brothers heed the call, now is the time to make a positive contribution to your community.

MISSION STATEMENT:

Chicago Windy City Black LGBT-SGL Pride GOALS:
1. Organize events to inspire pride within the black LGBT-SGL community.2. Sponsor activities (e.g., town hall meetings, workshops, training modules, etc.) designed to educate and increase the visibility of the LGBT-SGL community of African descent.
3. Create networking opportunities for the black LGBT-SGL community.
4. Secure and develop financial resources (e.g., scholarships, investment clubs, etc.) to help improve the quality of life within the community.
5. Provide and promote entertainment as social outlets.
CWCBP is a proud member of The International Federation of Black Prides (IFBP). The IFBP is a governing body for the various African American pride celebrations across the U.S., and provides leadership and resources and helps set standards for black prides, unify its members, and assures that black prides continue year after year.
